The Synergy Between THC & Chocolate: The key is Anandamide
Raw dark chocolate is an aphrodisiac. If you want to get geeky with me, humans have a neurotransmitter called Anandamide to thank for the natural elation we experience when we are feeling uplifted. Anandamide is a type of lipid known as the ‘bliss chemical’. It is a naturally occurring cannabinoid found in the human brain. We also have receptors for tetrahydrocannabinol or THC. Our bodies can make anandamide that properly fits the receptor site for THC. Anandamide plays a role in the regulation of mood, pain perception, memory, and appetite. Cacao contains anandamide as well as anandamide inhibitors. The presence of N-oleolethanolamine and N-linoleoylethanolamine allow the euphoric feeling to last longer. The synergy occurs when dark chocolate is combined with THC boosting the effects of the bliss chemical. This is why the experience of eating chocolate with THC is more potent. Get your groove on.
